Mallor Grodner Response to Coronavirus

On Behalf of | Mar 23, 2020 | Firm News

The attorneys and staff at Mallor Grodner have always put our clients’ needs and best interests at the forefront. That has not changed. In fact, it is especially true during the uncertain, difficult time we are all experiencing in the fight to curb the rise of the coronavirus. Many of our team members began working remotely on Friday, March 13th, on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) (https://www.in.gov/isdh/28470.htm).  On March 19th, we took additional steps to reduce the number of people coming into our offices to work on any given day.  Those not in the office are working remotely, a plan which enables us to maintain our normal work hours.

On Monday, March 23, 2020, Governor Eric Holcomb signed an executive order urging Indiana residents to stay at home in an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.  Indiana’s stay-at-home order takes effect at 11:59 p.m. March 24th and ends at 11:59 p.m., April 6, 2020. During this time, residents are asked to stay in their homes unless they work for an essential business or need to complete essential activities.

Governor Holcomb has deemed legal services as essential business operations, and therefore exempt from the Stay at Home order issued on March 23. Accordingly, the work plan instituted at Mallor Grodner a week earlier is still in effect.

Over the past several years, we have invested heavily in technology and have developed systems, processes, and procedures for our operations to become particularly well-equipped for remote work. Because of this, we anticipate overall interruption to our services will be minimized. Your calls will be answered, and you will receive responses to your emails. With limited exceptions we will not ask you to come into our offices for face-to-face meetings, but are able to video conference with you.

We will continue to update our business status on our website. You may also check our Updates section on our website for articles relevant to business and employer responses to COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and look forward to things getting back to normal soon. Remember we are all in this together. Take good care of yourselves and your families and stay well!
