Jenna L. Heavner was interviewed, along with two other family law attorneys, for an article entitled “COVID-Fueled Conflict” in the January 5-18, 2022 edition of The Indiana Lawyer. The article focused on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on clients, as well as the changes in the practice of family law as a result of the pandemic.
Jenna commented on the impact of delays in hearings and hearings held virtually, rather than in person, as a result of the pandemic. She also shared how COVID issues, such as vaccinations, have added additional stress to an already emotionally-charged situation where children are involved. These situations and changes have required family law practitioners to be creative and approach what previously were common issues in new ways.
Jenna focuses her practice on a full range of family law issues. She served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association, in 2021, and continues to be actively involved with both the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association. She has been selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in family law and also received the 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch recognition for her work in family law.
