Anne Hamilton Curry, a partner with Mallor Grodner LLP, was a featured speaker at the Farm Ag Conference held at Purdue’s Beck Agricultural Center, in West Lafayette, on May 17, 2022. The conference was presented by the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana, now known as Big I Indiana.
Anne’s presentation was entitled “Here Today and Here Tomorrow—Farm Succession Planning.” She provided information regarding farm management from one generation to the next, planning for and transitioning asset ownership, advantages and disadvantages of both selling and transferring farm assets, and tax issues involved in the process. Anne also spoke of the importance of estate planning in farm succession planning and assembling a team of professional advisors to participate in the process.
The conference provided training and networking opportunities for insurance professionals from throughout the state. Those with the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist certification were also able to complete their annual continuing education requirements. The Big I Indiana supports its members at the national, state, and local levels, helping them manage their agencies more efficiently as well as advocating on their behalf.
